A very interesting and helpful resource available at TagoIO is Files. This feature stores files of the most varied types in your account; you can store images, videos, .csv, .pdf, .gif, and any other type of files you want. Thus, you don’t need to rely on external services (e.g. Dropbox, Google…) to host images or other types of files in your TagoIO application.
Tip: You can safely host your application images on TagoIO for use on the platform or on external services. As per today, the size limit for your files is 20MB, and there is no charge for it (yep, it is Free).
To upload to Files, simply enter in the Files section in your account and click on the Upload File button, after that, a card will be opened to select files from your machine to upload to TagoIO.
Tip: You can upload multiple files at once, just select the files you want and all files will be uploaded to your account.
In addition to the way shown above, you can use the Input Form widget to upload files to your platform. This makes this feature much easier to implement if you need it for an application, just use a File Upload type field in your Input Form. This field will give the user the possibility to choose up to 5 files to upload to the TagoIO platform.
Tip: A very cool feature involving the File Upload field is the option “Use mobile camera”, this option will give the user the possibility to use the camera of his cell phone in the TagoIO/TagoRUN app to upload photos taken directly with the cell phone to TagoIO.
An interesting point to note is that all files stored in your TagoIO account are shareable. So, if you want to send a file from your account to a coworker, just send the file’s URL from the “Copy Url” button that will become available when you select the file you want. This way, your co-worker will be able to download the file normally. Keep in mind that he will also be able to pass the link sent by you to other people.
Note: You can configure your files, individually, as private or public. If you are using your file outside your account (sending the link to someone or using the link externally), your file must be set to Public.
Well, I hope you have learned more about this very useful feature available to all TagoIO users. If you have any questions about Files, just ask in this post.
Thanks!!
